Fire That Works

  I love to watch fireworks shows.  The bursts, the colors, the music excites me and I anxiously await how the next one will be bigger or better than the last. Watching fireworks is fun.  I realized in the Bible there is evidence of fireworks also.  Did you know that?  Just ask Moses who saw fireworks in  a burning bush in Exodus 3 or Elijah who witnessed the fire of God in 1 Kings 18.  The evidence speaks for itself that the fire of God works.  The prophet Jeremiah declared the word of God was like fire in his bones and three men named Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of an overheated furnace unharmed, with God walking in the midst of them. Talk about a fireworks show.  The Bible says in Hebrews 12:29 that our God is a consuming fire. If you want to see a good fireworks show just look in the Bible.  Scripture displays the best examples of fire that works.  It gets bigger and better each time I read about the fire of God consuming and guiding our footsteps despite difficulties.   I pray  that God will allow me to see and experience fireworks in my daily life.  I’m asking God to burn up, turn up and show up just like He did for so many others I’ve read about in scripture.  I pray that others  will see God’s fire working in me because I want to be a beautiful display of His grace and mercy.
