When I was a young girl my father would always lead us in prayer before we ate big meals. Holidays were special not just because of family time but because of prayer time. It was important for us to gather around, get quiet and talk to God. Everybody was on one accord , no TV noise, no music playing , nothing to distract us from a moment of prayer. I later realized my father took time to pray. He prayed often, not just at the dinner table. He prayed in the morning before going to work, he prayed in his truck during his workday on his route, he prayed when he got home from work, he prayed when he was studying the Bible and preparing lessons to teach the Sunday School. I can’t even count the times I saw him fall asleep on the side of the bed on his knees, tired but still praying. He made prayer a part of his life. The Bible says to pray often and I’m trying to do just that. I fall short though admittedly. I have so many examples of prayer working and God moving in ways that I know are only the results of conversations with Him. Do you have special prayer time memories? Are you keeping track of your answered prayers? Let’s journey together in prayer for one another because prayer works! Now that’s what I call Living On Pitch.
