No Hot Date

I don't know how I feel about the sparkle... but I like the idea of a "pop" in an otherwise typical outfit:

All weekend long I was asked if I was going out on a date.  Not just any date but a “hot” date. I only changed one thing on the outside and that was my hairstyle.  People noticed my hair and makeup, my walk, my clothes and my personality.  Some even said I was glowing.  I smiled and just said, there was no hot date to everyone who asked me.  The outside appearance was different, but what really changed for me was mostly on the inside.  Truth is I had been on a date, in fact it was several dates. We’d met before but it’d been a good while since we last spent quality time together.  We re-connected and after spending time alone without any distractions, I realized I missed being in that old place, our place where I could just be myself.  I spent time getting a little closer, I laughed and cried, I surrendered and I gave in to the request to keep in touch more.  I was happy to be going out on my “hot dates”, it just felt good and right.  I felt refreshed and knew that’s what being in God’s presence would do to me,  it would fill me up, change my look and make me glow.  He was and always is my perfect date.

2 Corinthians 5:16-20 ( MSG)Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank you for your presence in my life. Let others see the glow of God in me every moment I spend with you and every time I sit at your feet.  Amen
