How I Say Good Morning to God

My prayer this morning is simple. The words to the hymn I Am Thine O Lord say it all. Draw me nearer Lord, Nearer blessed Lord. My favorite verse says :

Consecrate me now, to thy service Lord, By the power of grace divine

Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope and my will be lost in Thine.

My morning prayer is Lord help us  live with purpose and grow closer to you.

Now that’s what I call living on pitch.  It’s all about #thatworshiplife.

I Can’t See

I need to have my eyes checked.  I can’t see.  The problem with my eyes starts with me.  I was recently  speaking to a family member  about truth and reality.  We spoke candidly about what we saw in a situation near and dear to us and how we saw things differently.  In my conversation we both learned we can’t see too good and were in need of a spiritual eye exam. It was a reminder to beware of calling things like we see them.  Have you ever said,” I just call it like I see it?”  I thought about this and how God sees everything and knows everything. God sees far beyond what you and I can see.  Do you see the problem with our eyesight?  We say I don’t see it or I can’t see it, I can’t see how…. but the reality is we don’t see as well as God sees. I learned when my eyesight is faulty it affects my faith.  I  can say  I just call it like I see it but only God can see it before I call it.  The Bible reminds me that my “I’s” need examination frequently. Am I looking at this through the eyes of faith? The Bible says in Hebrews 11 that it’s not about things we can see.  It’s about what is not seen. As a  believer I must let faith be my guide.   It doesn’t matter what our situations look like we must remember that God sees and knows everything.  When we can’t see how we are going to make it through our current situation and things may not look good to us,  we must trust in God who sees and knows exactly what’s best for us.

Therefore I Have Hope

Scripture Chalkboard Printables from Sweet Blessings, featured @printabledecor1:

It’s Friday and I am quoting Max Lucado today who reminds me of a blessed hope in God.

“Worship is when you’re aware that what you’ve been given is far greater than what you can give.” from the book titled Hope, Pure and Simple

Getting Through

I just read the last chapter of my book You’ll Get Through This by Max Lucado.  I love this author. I was extremely encouraged by what he said in the book about hope and help for our turbulent times.  It’s hard to believe so many lives were taken in Orlando, FL and so many others were injured by one gunman.  This violence, hatred, evil is real and I must as a believer in Christ remember the biblical examples of God turning mess into good. I must pray and encourage others going through whatever difficulties they face.  Thank you Max Lucado for reminding me of  how I need to be a Joseph this in the final chapter’s message:  Evil. God. Good.

Quoted from Max’s book:

“You’ll get through this. It won’t be painless. It won’t be quick. But God will use this mess for good. Don’t be foolish or naive. But don’t despair either.  With God’s help, you’ll get through this. ”  Max Lucado

Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

STAYING HOPEFUL

af76fa1e038817477675f2dadc1f421cHave you ever met a hopeful?  I recently met and worked with a hopeful person.  He was training for the 2016 Olympics.  He was focused on the goal, determined to reach it, and full of expectations.   I learned a lesson on hope from him .  I was reminded to stay hopeful, I must remain focused on the eternal rewards.  In Christ I have a sure hope, a blessed hope, a pure hope and a bright hope.    My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and His righteousness.  I am encouraged to build my hopes on eternal things.

I love this message of hope by Max Lucado:  We forget that ‘impossible” is one of God’s favorite words.

What are you hoping for today?

Being Ready

Yolanda Adams’ song, I’m Gonna Be Ready has been on my mind lately.  She sings it so beautifully and the mime in this video does a wonderful job at performing it also.  I hope you are encouraged by it today.

Remember these words: Beyond what I can see God knows what’s best for me.

Filling in the Blank

30c3c05a791e214d75a541d4a9a0716aSince the movie , Straight Outta Compton was released, people all over started using the phrase Straight Outta (fill in the blank) to identify  and promote their hometown and other things like church, debt, etc.  All of us could fill in the blank with something but no one can fill in the blanks like Jesus.
