It’s been a while since I’ve read a book of fiction straight through from cover to cover. I enjoy reading mysteries and my favorite authors would always capture me at the first sentence, paragraph or chapter. They would draw me in and not let me go, even though I didn’t always know what to expect. I was pretty sure there would be ups and downs, moments of joy and pain, disappointments and disaster, anticipation of drama, love stories and many characters coming and going. Sometimes I didn’t want to know what would happen next but I would never put the books down because I didn’t know what was happening. I just kept on reading, kept on going through page by page, chapter by chapter till the end.. I’ve learned in my Christian walk life can sometimes feel just like those books I used to read cover to cover. I don’t always know what to expect from God who is the author and finisher, but I must keep going through. I realize sometimes it’s the going part of “going through” that is the toughest to handle. I’ve learned more importantly that God won’t let me go through various chapters of my life, unexpected drama, love stories and several characters without a strong finish. He is my favorite author from beginning to end. God does not disappoint ever. He’s no mystery and He makes Himself known through every test and trial of my life. I am not worried about difficulties, bad news, or less than perfect timing. I am confident because He promises to be with me from start to finish.
Philippians 1:6(ESV) says And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
