30c3c05a791e214d75a541d4a9a0716aSince the movie , Straight Outta Compton was released, people all over started using the phrase Straight Outta (fill in the blank) to identify  and promote their hometown and other things like church, debt, etc.  All of us could fill in the blank with something but no one can fill in the blanks like Jesus.  No one can say they came Straight Outta heaven, Straight Outta the cross  and Straight Outta the grave. Jesus came Straight Outta glory back to glory.  My hometown identity can’t save me, neither can fame or fortune save me.  Only God alone can fill in all my blanks.  Only God, who is all-powerful, all-knowing and ever-present can do that.  The songwriter sums it up best for me in the song, Lord I Lift Your Name On High with these lyrics: You came from heaven to earth to show the way, from the earth to the cross my debt to pay, from the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky. Lord I lift your name on High.

Prayer: Thank you Lord filling in my blanks with your everlasting love and saving grace.  Praise your name for you are merciful. You are the Alpha and Omega, Amen.
