I am pretty sure I don’t like eating certain foods. I’m not sure about peas as a side dish, raw onions on my burgers or sugar on my grits. I’m pretty sure that I can’t swim. I’m not too sure about jumping off a high rock into a body of water for the thrill and exhilarating experience it brings. I’m sure I love flowers in the spring , a good restaurant or book to read, singing, listening to live music and spending quality time with my family. I’m not so sure I enjoy attending funerals though.
I attended a funeral service last week. It was a beautiful time. I was reminded of the swift transition of life. I observed how the family entered the church. They walked in sure of the fact, the time had come to celebrate their loved one, hear memories, listen to songs and grieve. I watched as the choir sang and musicians played, they looked like they were sure of every note and you could see the emotions on their faces. I felt certain they were singing for and to the living, not the dead. Everyone joined them singing a medley of songs during the final parting view as one big choir. The minister spoke boldly and courageously. He reminded us to be sure of our salvation. He offered and explained God’s plan of obtaining eternal life in simple terms.
While I may not be sure about a few things in life I am sure that my eternal home is not here on this earth. (2 Corinthians 5:1-8) (I John 5:11-13) ( John 3:16)
I am sure that God loves me and nothing can separate me from His love. ( Romans 8:38-39)
I am confident you too can be living sure with blessed assurance of salvation, freedom and eternal joy.
It’s not too late to live sure, knowing you have accepted Jesus in your heart , confessed your sins with your mouth and believe that Jesus died for you and is coming back for you then you can rest in peace knowing you are right with God.
