Two Words

I’ve got just two words of wisdom for today. They are Slow Down.

Be slow to speak is what James said in his book of the bible, chapter 1 verse 19. Did I just read that too fast? James 1:19 ESV -Know this my beloved brothers, let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.

Am I talking too fast? Am I reading the Bible too fast? Am I walking by someone too fast? Am I writing someone off too fast? Gotta watch for those speed bumps and slow down.

Rooted and Grounded

Here’s two words that are good reminders for us to keep living on pitch.

When we are rooted in God’s word we can be sure our anchor in Christ hold us with a firm grip.

Two Words

Today I have two simple words to share with you and they are:

“Never Forget ”

As we take time out to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001, we pray for healing hearts and God’s eternal hope to abide. Thank God , because of Him we can look back even when it’s difficult and say Jesus I’ll never forget what you’ve done for me.

Balancing Act

Zero balance are two words that I love to hear when it comes to my credit card account.  It’s a great feeling to know I have some freedom, I owe nothing and my account is in good standing.   Zero balance is not necessarily  what I want to hear when it comes to my prayer life’s bank account.  No prayer, no power is what my former pastor used to say.  It’s hard to experience any spiritual growth without making deposits and balancing things out daily.   Some days you may feel you have lots of time and other days you don’t have as much, so we all have to make choices in our balancing acts. I am here to let you know, you can do it. You can keep an active lifestyle and maintain a healthy balance in prayer and devotion to God. Take five minutes today and make a deposit.

Thought: Today I choose to meditate and pray. I will be like a rock and just sit still.

Ecclesiastes 4:6 Better is a handful of quietness than two hands full of toil and a striving after wind.

So Much To Say

Grace-736162In just two words I have so much to say.  My two words for today are SO MUCH.

When you feel unloved, remember how God loves you so much.

When you feel weak, remember God cares for you so much.

When you feel overwhelmed, remember God has so much mercy and grace.

When you feel life and this world are out of control, remember God has so much power.

When you don’t understand why,  remember God knows so much about you.

When you feel like giving up,  remember God reigns over so much.

When you feel like nothing is working out, remember God has so much control.

When I think about how much God has done for me , the so much in my life can’t be completely counted, fully described or explained. No matter how I feel, there is no measuring cup big enough to hold how much God has already done for me. God’s grace means so much.  God I love you so much for that’s what I call Living On Pitch.

Simple Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you so much.  Amen.

Are You a PK?

Growing up in church I heard many people refer to PK’s which meant a pastor’s/preacher’s kid.  PK’s were often labeled and watched constantly.  I was glad  I wasn’t one when I was growing up but now that I am older I understand being a PK was not a bad thing at all.  Christians are often labeled and watched by the world. I read I Corinthians 13:4 and it says love is patient and kind, it does not envy or boast. It is not arrogant. It made me think about two simple words: patient and kind. I asked myself are you patient and kind?  Are you a PK type of person? I realized showing love as a daughter of my heavenly Father requires me to live and love in a different kind of way. Uniquely defined love is patient and kind.

Prayer: Lord help me to be more like you today. Amen
